Behavioral security

Security built around behavior.

Understand abusive traffic, explain risk, and protect critical digital journeys with security controls designed around what users and automation actually do.

Traffic modelObservation mode
Illustrative traffic patterns. In the AdiFence lab, protection decisions currently run in observation (dry-run) mode: “Would limit” describes what a policy would do, and nothing is enforced. Four kinds of traffic move through three layers: behavioral analysis, explainable signals and protection decisions. Browsing, with an irregular rhythm, ends in Allow. Stock polling, with a steady interval, ends in Observe. Repeated requests, in a dense repeating run, end in Would limit. A quick checkout passes as Allow.

What we work on

Three ways to look at the same traffic.

01

Behavioral Security

Detect meaningful patterns in how sessions interact with critical digital journeys — from repeated requests to abnormal commerce behavior.

Two sessions, one rhythm each

02

Detection Engineering

Turn telemetry into explainable security signals that can be reviewed, tested, and improved over time.

A signal and its explanation

03

Ecommerce Abuse Protection

Protect high-demand digital commerce flows against automated behavior without treating every fast user as malicious.

Four journeys, four gates

How AdiFence works

From traffic to explainable protection.

Four layers, each one inspectable on its own. Analysis happens on recorded telemetry; only a lightweight policy step sits on the request path.

  1. 01

    Telemetry

Requests and commerce events are recorded against pseudonymous sessions: route, method, status, timing and the steps of a journey. Client addresses are hashed, never stored raw.

    Recorded

  2. 02

    Behavioral Detection

Session behavior is summarised into baselines and checked against explicit, versioned rules. Every observation carries its measured values, the conditions it checked and a plain-language explanation.

    Evaluated offline

  3. 03

    Explainable Risk

Observations are grouped into distinct behavioral families. The result is a descriptive score shown together with its coverage: it is not a probability and not a verdict.

    Derived on demand

  4. 04

    Realtime Protection

A route-aware policy layer checks each request against a session-scoped allowance. In the AdiFence lab it runs in dry-run mode: it records what it would do, and enforces nothing.

    Dry-run

Why AdiFence

Security decisions should be understandable.

  1. 01

    Explainable by design

Every signal and protection decision should be traceable back to observable behavior.

  2. 02

    Behavior-first

Focus on what a session actually does rather than relying solely on fingerprints or static identity signals.

  3. 03

    Route-aware protection

Browsing, stock checks, cart mutations and checkout flows do not carry the same risk and should not be treated the same way.

  4. 04

    Observe before enforcement

Measure first. Validate behavior. Understand impact. Then decide whether protection should be enforced.

Platform view

See the decision path.

Choose a journey and follow it from incoming traffic to a protection policy and its outcome.

  1. 01 Incoming traffic

A visitor opens the home page, a product page and then the cart.

  2. 02 Telemetry

Each request is recorded against a pseudonymous session: route, method, status and timing.

  3. 03 Behavioral signals

An irregular rhythm across several routes. No repeated-request pattern is seen.

  4. 04 Explainable risk

No behavioral family is observed. The absence of a signal is not treated as proof of safety.

  5. 05 Protection policy

Pages get generous allowances, so quick page loads and prefetching are never penalized.

  6. 06 Outcome

    • Allow (applies in this example)
    • Observe
    • Would limit

    The session continues untouched.

Illustrative paths. In AdiFence's lab environment, protection decisions currently run in observation (dry-run) mode: they are recorded, not enforced.

Research

Engineering in the open.

AdiFence documents the engineering decisions behind its security platform — including what worked, what failed and why controls were designed the way they were.

Company

Building security systems that explain themselves.

AdiFence is an independent security engineering initiative focused on practical, explainable protection for modern digital environments.

Our work combines behavioral analysis, detection engineering, cloud security and realtime protection with a simple principle: security controls should be measurable, understandable and safe to operate.
